Biobank Graz

The mission of Biobank Graz, a central service facility of Medical University of Graz, is to support research on the cause of diseases and the development of improvements in disease diagnosis and treatment. The goal is to contribute to an improved and sustained healthcare for the general population.

The collections currently comprise several million of well organised biological material. The biological resources essentially include:

  • Formalin-Fixed Paraffin-Embedded (FFPE) tissues
  • Cryopreserved tissues
  • Biological fluids (Blood and derivatives, Urine, Saliva, Follicular fluids...)

 

The multidisciplinary team and state-of-the-art equipment allow prospective sample collection fitting with specific researchers' needs.

Biobank Graz provides managerial support (e.g. project coordination) as well as technical support (e.g. preparation of derivatives) to academic and industrial research.
